Daiitoku Myō-ō (Yamantaka)

The Supreme Guardian

This original artwork portrays Daiitoku Myō-ō (Yamantaka), one of the Five Wisdom Kings revered in Japanese Esoteric Buddhism.

Daiitoku Myō-ō is regarded as the most formidable manifestation of enlightened power, revered for overcoming death, fear, calamity, and every obstacle that stands in one’s way. Depicted riding a water buffalo with multiple faces, arms, and legs, he symbolizes absolute power that confronts and conquers threats from every direction.

I imbued this skateboard with the presence of Daiitoku Myō-ō.

This is not simply a skateboard painted with his image. The deck itself is a guardian vessel, driving away evil and misfortune while protecting its owner and the space it inhabits.

By bringing the ancient spirit of Japanese protection into the modern form of a skateboard, I created a work that embodies absolute protection and the power to overcome all adversity.
