This original artwork portrays Daruma, one of Japan’s most enduring symbols of perseverance, determination, and the fulfillment of one’s goals.

Daruma originates from Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. Because the Daruma doll always rises after being knocked down, it has become a symbol of resilience, unwavering determination, and the pursuit of success. For centuries, it has been cherished throughout Japan as a talisman for achieving ambitions and overcoming adversity.

I imbued this skateboard with the spirit of Daruma.

This is not simply a skateboard painted with the image of Daruma. The deck itself is a vessel of determination, representing the resolve to pursue one’s goals and the strength to keep moving forward.

The intense expression embodies an unbreakable will that refuses to yield to any obstacle. I created this work to empower its owner, strengthen their resolve, and inspire them to achieve their aspirations.
